How this promo reached collectors
Team Rocket's Mimikyu (087/182) is one of four prerelease cards named in Pokemon.com's Destined Rivals Build & Battle article. The article announces public early availability beginning May 17, 2025. That is not a staff handout date. This is an expansion-numbered card with a Cosmos Holo prerelease printing and set-logo stamp, not an SVP-numbered Black Star Promo.
BEFORE YOU BUY
Check the stamp, not just the name
Destined Rivals uses Cosmos Holo prints of expansion-numbered cards, with the expansion logo at the bottom left of the artwork. The STAFF version adds a separate STAFF stamp. The ordinary unstamped expansion card is not the prerelease variant.
SEALED VS RAW VS GRADED
The packaging matters
No packaging-specific evidence has been added for this card. A sealed listing must show the actual wrapper and contents. A slab, raw card and sealed promo pack are separate buying choices.
Catalog notes
Identity and release mapping are checked at the scope described by each source below. A catalog listing is not authentication. No scarcity, population or price claims are inferred.
Checked October 15, 2026. Staff scan, exact staff handout date and card-specific sealed-wrapper details remain unverified. Reference display does not establish commercial artwork permission.
